Vitiligo and its causes
Vitiligo is a skin ailment in which areas of skin lose their colour. This discoloured skin can form anywhere on the body and grows in size over time. Hair and the inside of the mouth might also be affected by this illness.
What causes Vitiligo?
Melanin is thought to be responsible for skin colour. Vitiligo occurs when a human cell is unable to synthesise melanin or stops functioning. This illness can afflict anyone at any stage in their lives, but it is more noticeable in individuals of dark colour. Except for the appearances, there is nothing to be concerned about with this condition; it is not life threatening or contagious.
There is no permanent treatment for vitiligo that will totally eliminate pigmentation. However, it can significantly improve the condition of the damaged skin.
Symptoms of Vitiligo
• Discoloration, such as body patches on the hands, face, or other opening places such as the genitals
• Hair whitening on the scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows, and beard
• Color loss inside the mouth or nose
• Vitiligo can strike anyone at any age, but it is more common before the age of 30.
The colouring of the skin can range from the entire body to specific portions of the body, depending on the type of Vitiligo that has affected the person. The progression of diseases is difficult to anticipate. It may stop spreading without therapy in some situations, but it may continue to spread despite treatment in others.
